Tejaswin Shankar wins decathlon silver

Tejaswin Shankar won silver in decathlon at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

He broke the 12-year old national record in decathlon with 7666 points.

Tejaswin also holds the national record in High Jump.

He faced challenges like cramps, dehydration, and exhaustion during the competition.

The gold medal was won by China’s Qihao Sun with 7816 points.

Tejaswin led after the first two events (100m and long jump).

He regained the lead at the end of the day with strong performances in high jump and 400m.

However, on the final day, his weak areas were scheduled, and Sun took the lead.

Tejaswin secured the silver medal with a 5m jump in pole vault and a 64.41m throw in javelin.

He finished 4th in the 1500m event.

Praveen Chithravel won bronze in triple jump with a best mark of 16.68m.

China’s Yaming Zhu was the only jumper to cross 17m in triple jump.

In the 800m, Mohd. Afsal took silver with a time of 1:48.43, while Krishan Kumar was disqualified for obstruction.
