Gujarat is set to become the first state in India to have a ‘Satellite Network Portal Site,’ following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the London-based company OneWeb and the state government. The aim of this project is to provide affordable, secure, and high-speed internet access to villages, district panchayats, local administrative bodies, and government departments. OneWeb will be setting up two of these sites, with one located in the Mehsana district of Gujarat.

India’s nuclear power capacity is set to witness a significant increase from over 7,000 Mega Watt to over 22,480 Mega Watt by the year 2031. Currently, the country has an installed nuclear power capacity of 7,480 Mega Watt, comprising 23 nuclear power reactors. The share of nuclear power in the total electricity generation in 2022-23 was about 2.8 percent.
