Belgian tennis player Justine Henin has been awarded the Philippe Chatrier Award 2023 by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Electoral Tribunal (ET) of Panama have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for ongoing cooperation in the field of election management and administration. This MoU strengthens the ties between the two organizations and expands ECI’s network of cooperation with foreign Election Management Bodies (EMBs) through its International Cooperation Programme. This marks the fourth MoU signed by ECI in the Latin Americas region, following previous agreements with Mexico, Brazil, and Chile.

The Karnataka government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has unveiled the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24. The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the procurement of two Dornier Aircraft for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The Ministry of Education has released the Performance Grading Index (PGI) for States and Union Territories (UTs). The PGI assesses the performance of the school education system at the state/UT level through a comprehensive analysis. The new PGI structure incorporates 73 indicators and emphasizes qualitative assessment, including digital initiatives and teacher education. The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and Bayer have launched the ‘ATL Industry Visit’ initiative under the Atal Tinkering Labs in Vapi, Gujarat.
