Justice Sheo Kumar Singh has been appointed as the Acting Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) by the Central government. He replaces Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, who retired on July 6, 2023. IIT Madras has become the first-ever Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) to establish a campus outside India. The Ministry of External Affairs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Madras and the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Zanzibar (Tanzania) to set up the campus. The move is in line with the National Education Policy 2020, which encourages high-performing Indian universities to establish campuses in other countries.
