Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah virtually inaugurated the ‘Akshar River Cruise’ on Sabarmati Riverfront. Developed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited, this passenger catamaran is the first of its kind in India under the Make in India initiative. Chemical Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has announced plans to set up nine Nano Urea plants across India by 2025. The goal is to manufacture 44 crore bottles of Nano Urea annually. India’s external debt stood at $624.7 billion at the end of March 2023, marking a marginal increase from the previous year. Although the debt-GDP ratio declined, the external debt rose by $5.6 billion from end-March 2022. Valuation gains, influenced by the appreciation of the US dollar against the Indian rupee and major currencies, accounted for $20.6 billion. Excluding
the valuation effect, the external debt would have increased by $26.2 billion instead of $5.6 billion.
