IndiGo’s parent company InterGlobe Aviation has become the first airline in India to cross the market capitalization of Rs 1 lakh crore. InterGlobe Aviation Limited is a low cost airline headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the fair and remunerative price of Rs 315 per quintal for sugarcane farmers for the season 2023-24. This price will be applicable for the purchase of sugarcane from farmers by sugar mills starting from October 1, 2023. Additionally, a premium of Rs.3.07 per quintal will be provided for every 0.1% increase in recovery above 10.25%, while the fair and remunerative price will be reduced by Rs 3.07 per quintal for every 0.1% decrease in recovery.

The Karnataka government has decided to provide cash instead of rice to below poverty line (BPL) families until rice is procured. Previously, the Siddaramaiah government had guaranteed the provision of 10 kg of rice for free to every member of a BPL household. Now, beneficiaries will receive cash at the rate of ₹34 per kilo for the additional 5kg of foodgrain promised under the ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme. The disbursement of money will commence on July 1.

The Union Cabinet has approved the introduction of the National Research Foundation (NRF) Bill, 2023, in parliament.
